The Benefits of Blogging for Business

Blogging is great for so many reasons! Let's dive in shall we...

Well to start, it drives traffic to your website!

Let me guess, you would love to have more website traffic

Now think about the ways people find your website:

  • They type your name right in their browser, but that means they must already know about you. So that doesn't really help.
  • You could pay for traffic by using Google or Yahoo adwords, but that traffic stops when the money stops.

So, how do you drive traffic? Well, by blogging, using social media and search engines.

Think about the different pages on your website. Now think about how often you update those pages. I'm guessing they don't get updated very often! I know, I know, you're thinking 'How am I supposed to update my contact us page?' The truth is, you can't, well not that often. But you know what you can keep updating, your blog!

Every time you write a blog post, it gets indexed! This means it's one more opportunity for you to show up in search engines and drive traffic to your website in organic search. It also signifies to Google and other search engines that your website is still active and they should be checking in often to scan your new content.

Blogging also helps you get discovered via social media. If someone reads a blog that you wrote that they enjoy, they are likely to share it on their personal social media pages. This helps to expose your business to a new audience that may not know you yet.

The best business blogs are the ones that actually get read. In order for your blog to be read it has to answer common questions that your leads and customers have. If you're consistently creating content that's helpful for your target customer, it'll help establish you as an authority in their eyes. They will begin to trust you and your opinion, and your product or service.

Blogging also helps deliver long term results.

If you write one blog today that gets you 100 views and 10 leads the same day that might seem pretty good. But, it gets better! You may get another 50 views and 5 leads tomorrow as a few more people find it on social media and some of your subscribers get caught up on their email. So on and so forth. Blogging, unlike an ad, doesn't expire. It will always be on the web, therefore it always has the chance to be found and shared. So, for days, weeks, months, and years to come, you can continue to get traffic and leads from that blog post.

Now that you understand the importance of blogging, message me and I can help get you started! :)
